About the artist

Imogen Marsteller is a painter born in Tucson, Arizona, and now based in London (Imogen Marsteller). After a BA at Sarah Lawrence College in New York she worked at the Fish Factory Creative Centre in Stöðvarfjörður, eastern Iceland, and then completed an MFA at Goldsmiths, University of London (Imogen Marsteller). Her paintings combine strong line, playful colour and tonal contrast, and draw on Pop, Renaissance and Baroque art to tell feminist coming-of-age stories from her own experience and the lives of women around her (Imogen Marsteller).

She showed in the Goldsmiths MFA degree show in 2023 and has since appeared in group exhibitions in London, among them the Annual Open Exhibition at Southwark Park Gallery and the London Art Fair with Zarastro Art in January 2026 (Imogen Marsteller CV; Goldsmiths). She was shortlisted for the Hari Art Prize in 2023 and longlisted for the Ruth Borchard Collection and Self Portrait Prize in 2025 (Imogen Marsteller CV). The collection's oil on paper Orchids always remind me of my mother (2025) appears on her website (Imogen Marsteller).
