About the artist

Naomi Gilon is a Belgian artist, born in 1996, who lives and works in Brussels (Swarm). She graduated from the painting department of ENSAV La Cambre in 2018 and since about that time has worked with ceramic objects that she designs, makes, glazes and fires herself (Swarm). Her influences include car tuning, tattoos, science fiction, mythology and horror films (Swarm).

Elongated claws and monstrous paws recur in her work, including her ceramic handbags (S Magazine). With the Danish fashion house Han Kjøbenhavn she made the Grip Dress, whose neckline is a clawed hand closing around the wearer's throat, worn by Julia Fox in 2022 (S Magazine). Her ceramic Cowgirl Boots and Monstrous bags are made to be used as accessories despite their fragility (BX1). The Joseph Clark Collection holds her work Big Paw (Joseph Clark Collection).
